1. General Donation Policy
• Voluntary Contribution: All donations made to ELSOPHI are voluntary and non-refundable, except under the specific circumstances outlined in Section 4.
• Purpose of Funds: Donations are used to support our core mission, including the School Access Project (SAP), Health Access Project (HAP), Family Empowerment Project (FEP), PRIME-Dev model, child education, women’s empowerment, and community social inclusion projects.
• Discretionary Allocation: While ELSOPHI strives to honour requests for donations to be used for specific projects, the organisation reserves the right to reallocate funds to where the need is greatest to ensure the maximum impact of your gift.
2. Payment Security & Processing
• Third-Party Processors: We use secure, PCI-compliant payment gateways (e.g., Paystack). ELSOPHI does not store your credit/debit card details on our servers.
• Transaction Fees: Please note that third-party processors may deduct a small transaction fee from your donation. The net amount received by ELSOPHI will be applied to our programmes.
3. Recurring Donations
• Authorisation: By selecting the "Monthly" or "Recurring" donation option, you authorise ELSOPHI to charge your provided payment method at the frequency selected.
• Cancellation: You may cancel your recurring donation at any time by contacting us at info@elsophi.org or through your donor portal. Please allow 5 business days for the cancellation to be processed.
4. Refund Policy
• General Rule: As a non-profit organisation, we typically do not offer refunds once a donation is processed.
• Exceptions: If a donation was made in error (e.g., a technical glitch resulting in a duplicate charge) or was unauthorised, please contact us within 14 days of the transaction. We will investigate and, if verified, issue a refund to the original payment method.
5. Tax Deductibility & Receipts
• Receipts: An automated tax-compliant receipt will be sent to the email address provided during the donation process.
• Tax Status: ELSOPHI is a registered non-governmental organisation in Nigeria. Donors are encouraged to consult with their local tax advisors regarding the deductibility of their gifts based on their specific country’s laws.
6. Data Privacy
• Collection of Information: We collect your name, email, and contact details to process your donation and provide impact updates.
• Protection: Your data is handled in accordance with the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) and global privacy standards. We will never sell, rent, or trade your personal information with third parties.
7. Limitations of Liability
ELSOPHI shall not be liable for any damages arising from your use of the donation portal, including but not limited to technical failures, unauthorised access by third parties, or errors made by payment processors.
